India Hits Back: Nine Terror Bases in Pakistan and PoK Targeted in Overnight Strikes

Prime Minister Modi personally oversaw the high-level military operation targeting Jaish and Lashkar leadership.

New Delhi, May 7:
In a bold and decisive move, the Indian Armed Forces launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ in the early hours of Wednesday, striking multiple terror hubs deep inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). According to an official statement from the Ministry of Defence, the precision strikes targeted at least nine locations known to harbor terrorist infrastructure linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) — two of the most deadly terror groups operating in the region.

The military offensive was a response to credible intelligence inputs indicating planned terror attacks against India. The Ministry emphasized that these bases were being actively used to orchestrate and direct terrorist operations targeting Indian civilians and military installations.

PM Modi Monitored Operation in Real Time

Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally monitored the entire operation from the strategic war room in New Delhi, sources told news agency ANI. The operation was months in the making and involved the coordinated efforts of the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, and special forces, showcasing India’s enhanced cross-border operational capabilities.

A little while ago, the Indian armed forces launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ hitting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir from where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed,” the official statement read.

Strategic Significance and International Reactions

According to defence experts, the timing and scale of Operation Sindoor mark a significant escalation in India’s counter-terror doctrine. This is reminiscent of earlier strikes such as the 2016 Surgical Strikes and the 2019 Balakot Air Strikes, but with greater tactical coordination and larger operational depth.

While Indian officials confirmed the success of the mission, there has been no immediate response from the Pakistani military or government. However, intelligence agencies are reportedly on high alert anticipating possible retaliatory actions or escalation along the Line of Control (LoC).

The international community, particularly strategic allies like the United States, France, and Israel, is expected to closely monitor the developments. India has also briefed key global partners on the legitimacy and necessity of the operation under the right to self-defence.
