Terrorists Have No Religion: Congress MLA Vijay Wadettiwar on Pahalgam Attack

Public anger grows; Congress MLA questions government's version of terror attack events.

Nagpur, Maharashtra, April 28, 2025 — Senior Congress leader and Maharashtra MLA Vijay Wadettiwar has strongly criticized the government following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, demanding that authorities take full responsibility for the security lapse.

Speaking to reporters in Nagpur, Wadettiwar expressed skepticism over the government's claim that the terrorists selectively targeted victims based on their religion.

"Is it believable that terrorists have the time to question people about their religion before killing them?" he asked, adding, "Some are saying that this account is not entirely accurate. Terrorists have no caste, no religion. The government should focus on catching the real culprits and delivering justice instead of creating communal narratives."

Wadettiwar emphasized that the entire nation is mourning the tragic loss of innocent lives and urged the government to act decisively.

"The sentiment of the country is clear — people want those responsible for this horrific act to be caught and punished. The government must answer for the breach in security," he said.

The Pahalgam attack, which claimed multiple civilian lives, has drawn nationwide outrage, with many demanding stronger counter-terrorism measures. Security has been heightened across sensitive zones following the attack, and a massive search operation is underway to track down those involved.

Meanwhile, opposition leaders continue to press the government to avoid politicizing the tragedy and focus instead on ensuring the safety of all citizens.
